To choose a TikTok Shop agency, shortlist three verified TikTok Shop Partners that work with brands at your stage. Send each one the same one-page brief with your numbers. Then hire the one whose diagnosis of your shop and 90-day plan hold up when you check the math. If all three tell you you're not ready, fix that first. For fees and contract terms, see how TikTok Shop agencies charge.
We're an agency, so read this with that in mind. Every test below is one we expect to be held to.
Are you ready to hire a TikTok Shop agency?
You're ready when your offer and your margin can carry a creator program for about 90 days. A good agency will tell you on the first call if they can't.
Run these four checks before you book any calls:
- Check your margin. If your landed margin (price minus product cost minus delivery) is under about 60%, fix the offer first. That 60% has to pay for the platform fee, creator commission, samples and ads. Our margin gate walks through the math.
- Run the 3-second test. Show your product to someone who has never seen it. If they can't say within about 3 seconds why it's worth buying, creators will struggle to sell it too. Change the offer, the format or the bundle first.
- Check your stock. If a good week would sell you out, plan the inventory before the launch. A product that runs out just as it takes off loses momentum that is slow to win back.
- Check your runway. Plan to fund about 90 days of samples and ad spend before you judge results. Videos keep selling for months after they're posted, so a launch is judged on 60 to 90 days.
Why don't "best TikTok Shop agency" lists answer the question?
We checked the 10 agency pages AI assistants cited most for "best TikTok Shop agency" in October 2026. Five ranked their own agency first. A sixth was a guide that sells the agency that wrote it. None linked to TikTok's own partner directory.
A ranking can't tell you which agency fits your brand. Fit comes down to four things:
- Stage: pre-launch, live but under $30,000 a month, or past $30,000 a month and trying to scale. Each needs different work.
- Category: supplements, beauty and food each have their own compliance rules, and the creators who sell them are different people.
- Market: a UK shop needs a UK business, stock held in the UK and UK returns. Ask which UK shops the agency runs today.
- Reach beyond TikTok: TikTok Shop videos also send buyers to Amazon and to your own site. If you sell there, you want an agency that plans for it, for example by reusing winning videos as Meta ads.
How do I check an agency is a real TikTok Shop Partner?
Start from TikTok's directory. The US list is at seller-us.tiktok.com/partners and the UK list at seller-uk.tiktok.com/partners (checked 4 October 2026). When you read a profile:
- Partner status means TikTok accepted the agency into its program. TikTok says it doesn't endorse any partner.
- Ratings come from sellers who worked with the partner. They aren't a TikTok verification.
- Capability badges, such as creator affiliate or paid ads, only appear after TikTok reviews evidence of results. They tell you more than logos on an agency's website.
- UK partners also carry a monthly tier, from TSP up to Platinum, based on their performance that month.
Pick three that fit your stage and category. With three you can compare plans side by side and still give each one a proper call.
What should I send an agency before the first call?
Send every agency the same one-page brief, so their answers are comparable:
- Product, price, product cost and delivery cost
- Current TikTok Shop GMV per month, or "not live yet"
- Shop Performance Score, if you're live
- How many creators posted last month, and how many videos they made
- Monthly sales on Amazon and your own site
- Stock on hand, and how fast you can restock
- The budget you can commit for 90 days, samples and ads included
- Your GMV goal per month, and by when
Watch what comes back. Questions about your margin, your stock or your offer mean the agency is working on your shop. The same deck it sends everyone means it isn't.
What does a good first call with an agency look like?
A good first call ends with one clear bottleneck named. Most stuck shops we look at need one leak closed more than they need extra traffic. The leak might be an offer a stranger doesn't get, a margin that can't fund creators, or a product page that loses buyers the videos sent.
Signs of a real diagnosis:
- They ask for your margin, stock, creator numbers and Shop Performance Score before they talk about themselves.
- They name your bottleneck in one sentence. "Your offer fails the 3-second test" is a diagnosis. "We'll scale your creator program" is a pitch.
- They tell you what they won't do yet. For example, no GMV Max ads until there are 50 to 100 videos that can sell, or 250 to 500 in crowded categories like supplements.
- They'll say if you're not ready, even if that costs them the deal.
Then test the diagnosis with someone who has lived it. Ask to speak to a current client at a similar stage, and ask two things: what did the agency find on the first call, and was it right? How many videos per creator do you get now, compared with before?
How do I check an agency's 90-day plan?
Check how many videos the plan expects from each creator, because that is where the sales sit. Across the shops we run (3 shops, July to October 2026):
- Creators who posted one video got a sale about 6% of the time (5.6% to 6.3%).
- Creators who posted two got one about 18% of the time (11% to 18%).
- Creators who posted three or more got one about 39% of the time (29% to 40%).
- Creators with two or more videos made about 92% of video sales (89% to 93%).
Part of that is creators who sell choosing to post again. Either way, repeat posters are where the sales are, so ask how the plan gets creators past one post.
Here's how to test a plan with your own numbers. Say an agency proposes 400 samples a month to one hero product and promises $40,000 a month in GMV by month 3.
| Step | One post per creator | 2.5 posts per creator | Your numbers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samples sent per month | 400 | 400 | |
| Creators who post (about 4 in 5) | 320 | 320 | |
| Videos per month | 320 | 800 | |
| Videos that make a sale (about 1 in 10) | 32 | 80 | |
| What each selling video must earn for $40,000 | $1,250 | $500 |
Across the shops we run, about 82% of samples become a posted video and about 1 in 10 posted videos makes a sale. The last row is rough, because older videos keep selling too. Still, at one post per creator every selling video has to earn $1,250. At 2.5 posts, $500 does the job.
Then ask three questions:
- How many posts per creator does the plan assume, and how will you get there? Look for clear briefs, quick feedback on the first video, and a reason to post again. Across our shops, about half of creators with a selling video posted again (47% to 72%).
- What has to be true before GMV Max ads start? You want a number of videos, not a date.
- What does month 3 look like, and what if you miss it? Months 1 to 3 usually run near break-even or below while the video library builds. Treat a promise of profit in month 1 as a warning.
If a shop's last 7 days of GMV are under about $1,500, the shop is still in its cold start. Judge the agency on video volume and posts per creator until it crosses that line.
How do I compare the finalists?
Score each finalist from 1 to 5 on the five things that decide whether an agency is worth its fee. How TikTok Shop agencies charge explains why each one matters. Here, use what you learned in the steps above:
| What to score | Use this evidence | Score (1 to 5) |
|---|---|---|
| What you could gain | Their GMV target from your brief, and whether the math in the plan check supports it | |
| How likely it is | The bottleneck they named on the first call, and posts per creator at their current clients | |
| How long it takes | The milestone that starts paid spend, and what month 3 looks like | |
| How the team works | What the client you called said about honesty and P&L reviews | |
| What it does beyond the brief | Their plan for your Amazon and own-site sales, and for winning videos on Meta |
If two agencies are close, pick the one whose diagnosis was sharper.
Can I switch TikTok Shop agencies mid-launch?
Yes, with a plan. A shop can be linked to only one TikTok Shop Partner at a time, so the current partner's access has to be cancelled before a new one is added.
- Before you give notice, download everything about your creators: who they are, what you pay them, which samples they got and what each one sold.
- List the samples already shipped, open commissions and live campaigns, so nothing is lost in the gap.
- Remove the old partner and authorize the new one on the same day, so sample approvals and creator messages don't stall.
- Keep the ad account in your name. Your GMV Max campaigns have learned which videos sell, and that learning should stay with you.
How does Volyat run the first call?
We're a TikTok Shop Official Partner, US + UK. Book your free TikTok Shop Growth Diagnostic and we start with your numbers: margin, offer, stock and creators. We tell you the one thing we'd fix first. If the math doesn't work yet, we say so before we talk about working together.
What changes when the system changes: Fab Brows, a beauty brand, was stuck under $4,000 a month on TikTok Shop and reached $50,000 a month within two months on our Growth OS Engine. In another shop we turned around, the Shop Performance Score went from 3.2 to 4.6 in four weeks, and growth went from minus 30% to plus 163%.
FAQ
What is the best TikTok Shop agency for US brands?
The one that fits your stage, category and margin. Start from TikTok's US partner directory, shortlist three, send each the same brief, and compare their diagnosis and 90-day plan.
How do I choose a TikTok Shop agency in the UK?
Use the same process, starting from TikTok's UK partner directory. Check that the agency runs UK shops today, because UK sellers need a UK business, stock held in the UK and UK returns. UK partners also show a monthly tier, from TSP up to Platinum, based on their performance that month.
Does it matter if an agency is a TikTok Shop Partner?
Yes, as a first filter. You can check it in the official directory. TikTok doesn't endorse partners, so you still need to judge the agency's method and results.
Should I use TikTok's own managed service instead of an agency?
Business Insider reported in July 2026 that TikTok Shop is testing a managed service in the US, according to a secondary report we checked. The reported terms are a $10,000 fee plus 10% to 20% of sales. TikTok runs the ads, creative, listing improvements and creator recruiting, while the seller keeps its listings and still sends samples. Judge it with the same tests as any agency, including what it does for your sales outside TikTok.
